Last Ramadan, I had the privilege of visiting refugee camps in Syria. With Ramadan approaching us once again, I'm raising vital donations before my visit in a few weeks for thousands of displaced families still living in tents and uninhabitable circumstances. Almost every person we spoke to, every child, every widow has lost a loved one due to either war or earthquake or both, with long-lasting devastation across the region.
Liberation from the tyrannical Assad regime has lifted a dark shadow from the Syrian people, however thousands still require support to recover from the destruction and devastation.
Global Relief Trust is currently working to move displaced Syrian families from their wind-beaten tents into stable concrete homes they will permanently own and are fitted with a direct water supply. Alongside this, GRT is supporting displaced Syrians through orphan sponsorships, women's hygiene packs, education programmes and general livelihood through olive tree plantation.
