Assalamu Alaikum,
I am stepping out of my comfort zone and traveling to Syria
for the first time this Ramadan to volunteer on the ground with Global Relief
Trust (GRT) as part of the “Shaam Is Where The Heart Is” project.
I will be supporting two vital initiatives:
* Sa’ada Village – building permanent homes for displaced
families
* Atmah Physiotherapy Centre – providing rehabilitation for
children and war survivors.
This is my first visit to Syria. I’m nervous, but hopeful,
and committed to serving the people of Shaam during this blessed month.
