The GReaT Skydive Challenge
Uswah Ayyaz is fundraising for The GReaT Skydive Challenge
On Sunday 15th September, I will be taking part in a skydive to raise much needed funds for the Global Relief Trust (GRT) charity.
I will take part in a freefall from 14,000ft (harnessed to an instructor), reaching terminal velocity of 120mph. This is a huge hide deal for me and not one that I have taken lightly, or one that I am particularly excited about – it has taken lots of courage and self-reflection to sign up to this. Those who know me, know that all my life, one of my greatest fears is heights, alongside the fact that I do not enjoy flying. However, priorities change and life allows us to sacrifice some personal comfort for the benefit of others and so here we are!
Funds raised will be going where most needed in countries like Gaza, Yemen, Syria, Pakistan, Bangladesh and more, to support some amazing projects which include supporting orphans, hifz, food, water and shelter.
GRT is a fantastic charity and very close to my heart who I have had longstanding, close ties with. Over the years, I have had the privilege of having access to regular insight into their work and current projects and outcomes, so I am confident that the funds raised will be utilised extremely well.
