Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters,
My son, Ayyub has been diagnosed with a rare condition called Acute Flaccid Myelitis (A.F.M.). AFM is a rare but serious neurological condition that affects the spinal cord and Causes inflammation, which leads to severe muscle Weakness and loss of reflexes.
Ayyub suffered a severe spinal cord injury at C2 level, leading to inflammation and nerve damage that impacted his diaphragm, resulting in respiratory complications. He was sedated, intubated, and placed on a ventilator, spending three long months in PICU.
Afterward, he underwent a tracheostomy which finally was removed in October. He has been in the hospital for 12 months now.
Despite his bright spirit and determination, Ayyub's condition has left him wheelchair bound, unable to do basic things for himself, he now relies on others for his cares.
To provide Ayyub with the treatment he desperately needs, we are looking to raise funds to seek treatment abroad, where he can receive specialised care that is not available here.
In Islam we believe, both illness and its cure originate from Allah, and seeking medical treatment is encouraged, but with the understanding that healing ultimately comes from Allah (SWT).
Our goal is to give him a better quality of life and help him regain his dignity and independence.
Thank you and jazak Allah Khair for taking the time to read his story and for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in Ayyub's journey to recovery.
May Allah bless you for your generosity and multiply your rewards. Please keep our Ayyub and all children facing illness in your duas. Ameen.
All believers are one body, and when one part of the body is hurting, then the entire body is hurting.”
