- Large Animal = Cow or Buffalo (1 Qurbani = 1/7 share)
🧠 Simple Fiqh of Qurbani
- Who Must Offer Qurbani?
- Every sane, adult Muslim who possesses the nisab amount (wealth equal to or greater than the Zakat threshold) must offer a Qurbani.
- When is Qurbani Done?
- After the Eid Salah, on the 10th, 11th, or 12th of Dhul-Hijjah.
- What Animals Can Be Offered?
- Sheep, goats (minimum 1 year old); cows and camels (minimum 2-5 years old).
- A small animal = 1 person's Qurbani.
- A large animal = 7 shares (up to 7 people).
- What if I Can Afford More?
- The Prophet ﷺ sacrificed on behalf of himself and his Ummah. Giving extra Qurbani for loved ones (alive or deceased) is highly encouraged!
"The best of deeds on the days of Eid is to offer a sacrifice."
(Ahmad, Ibn Majah)
❤️ Go Beyond the Minimum!
Don’t just fulfil your duty — extend your mercy.
Millions across the world are facing famine, war, and poverty. Your extra Qurbani could be the only meat a family eats all year. Multiply your reward by performing additional sacrifices for yourself, your loved ones, and for those who have no one to sacrifice on their behalf.
"Whoever revives a Sunnah from my Sunnah, and the people act upon it, he will have a reward equivalent to those who act upon it."
(Tirmidhi)
