Medical Care Mission to Sudan - April 2026

Medical Care Mission to Sudan April 2026

(2nd to 16th April 2026)

Sudan is facing the world’s most severe humanitarian & displacement crises—yet it remains largely out of the global spotlight.

What is the current situation in Sudan?

Ongoing conflict has devastated healthcare infrastructure across the country. Hospitals have been damaged or destroyed, supply chains disrupted, and millions of civilians displaced. Ordinary people—families, children, pregnant mothers, and the elderly—are now living without reliable access to even the most basic medical care.

WHO, IOM & OCHA statistics confirm :

-       33.7 million people in need of assistance

-   14 million people are forcibly displaced (internally & externally - the world’s largest displacement crisis; over 25% of Sudan’s 51 million population)

-       37% of health care facilities remain non-functional, with over 75% of health facilities in worst affected areas non-functioning

-       4.9 million children under five and pregnant women are acutely malnourished

-       Famine confirmed in parts of North Darfur, with 21 million in desperate need of food – the world’s largest hunger crisis

-       Disease outbreaks with rapid spread of cholera, malaria and measles

-       10 million children out of school

Death toll estimates vary with reports in excess of 150,000 since the conflict began in April 2023.

We are a team of 16 MEDICS, representing Doctors of Rahman/ Midland International Aid Trust (DOR-MIAT, UK charity no. 1110634) travelling to Sudan- 2nd to 16th April 2026 to deliver urgent, life-saving healthcare to displaced communities. Our deployment is fully self-funded.

You can find out more about DOR-MIAT and their ongoing projects by clicking the link:    https://doctorsofrahman.org/

What will we be doing?

Our team will be running medical clinics and providing essential surgical treatments in Al-Dabbah (Northern State) where healthcare access is extremely limited or non-existent. This includes:

·       Treating acute and chronic medical conditions

·       Providing emergency and life-saving surgical care including thoracic, cardiovascular, orthopaedic & ophthalmological

·       Supporting maternal and child health

·       Managing infections and preventable illnesses

·       Delivering care to displaced and conflict-affected populations

·       Installing hospital based medical-grade OXYGEN generation systems – one plant supporting over 100K patients

For many patients, this may be the only medical care they receive this year.

Why your support matters?

Healthcare workers on the ground are exhausted, under-resourced, and overwhelmed.

By joining them, we aim not only to treat patients but also to support local systems that are struggling to survive.

Every donation – no matter the size – will directly support this mission by helping to fund:

·      Medical & surgical supplies

·      Essential medications

·      Essential equipment for clinics & procedures

·      Oxygen supplies

Prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace) said -

“DO NOT SHOW LETHARGY OR NEGLIGENCE IN GIVING ALMS AND CHARITY TILL YOUR LAST BREATH” (BUKHARI & MUSLIM)

A single donation could mean a mother survives childbirth, a child recovers from infection, or a patient walks again after surgery. The people of Sudan are deserving of the same standard of care we would expect for our own families.

All donations are ZAKAH & SADAQAH eligible - simply select the type of donation.

100% donation policy -  Every penny you contribute directly supports our beneficiaries and reaches those who need it most.

Our initial goal of £25,000 is a stepping stone InshaAllah to an amount well in excess.

The need is urgent - Act Now & Be Part of the Healing
